JPA Workforce - Dallas is working to fill a 3pm to Finish, Forklift Technician position in Roanoke, TX. The pay rate is $19.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and be committed to maintaining safe and efficient equipment operations in a warehouse environment.

What you'll do:

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes.
• Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs performed.
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure equipment complies with company and OSHA standards.
• Replace worn or damaged parts, components, and accessories as needed.
• Test equipment after repairs to verify proper functionality.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize operational downtime.
• Communicate repair needs and maintenance recommendations to supervisors and management.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance protocols.

Education: No formal education required.

Experience:

Minimum 1-3 years of forklift repair or industrial maintenance experience preferred., Experience working on electric, propane, and/or diesel-powered forklifts is a plus., Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems preferred., Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center maintenance experience preferred.

Physical:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a warehouse or industrial environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely operate and test material handling equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to complete repairs and support operations.

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and fuel systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.

Related Experience: Experience repairing forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment., Experience performing preventative maintenance in warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environments., Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues., Familiarity with maintenance documentation and work order systems., Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
