JPA Workforce - Arlington is working with a client in their search to fill a Monday - Friday, Finishing Trimmer position in Grand Prairie, TX. The pay rate is $15.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.
Job Description:
The Finisher is responsible for the final processing of molded plastic or rubber components, including trimming, sanding, inspecting, cleaning, and packaging. This role ensures that all finished products meet quality standards and are prepared for shipment or further assembly. The Finisher will work in a high-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment and must be capable of standing and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Responsibilities:
- Trim excess material (flash) from molded plastic/polymer parts using hand tools or powered equipment.
- Sand, smooth, or buff plastic surfaces to remove imperfections and achieve desired finish.
- Inspect parts visually or with measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
- Clean components using compressed air, brushes, or other cleaning tools.
- Package finished products according to company procedures.
- Label and record finished parts accurately for inventory and shipping purposes.
- Report any defects, issues, or inconsistencies to the supervisor or quality control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and tools.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Support team members and assist in other production tasks as needed.
Education: No Requirements
Experience: 12 months
Fast-paced manufacturing floor., Exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and varying temperatures., Moderate noise level requiring hearing protection.Physical:
- Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions throughout the shift.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be hot or cold depending on the season).
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions, job orders, and part drawings.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to use hand tools, utility knives, rotary tools (e.g., Dremel), sanding equipment, etc.
- Experience with measuring tools like calipers or micrometers is a plus.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and follow direction.
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred. Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety.
Related Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in plastics, polymers, or composites., Previous experience as a Finisher, Production Worker, or Assembly Line Worker is strongly preferred., Experience with molded parts, extrusion products, or plastic components is a plus. , Familiarity with lean manufacturing, quality control standards, or ISO practices is advantageous but not required.
