JPA Workforce - Arlington is working with a client in their search to fill a 1st Shift 6AM-4:30PM, Building Maintenance Technician position in Grand Prairie, TX. The pay rate is $20.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.
Job Description:
Seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. This position is ideal for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who is a “jack of all trades” and enjoys hands-on work. The successful candidate will assist with general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facilities, working with a variety of tools and mechanical systems. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build technical skills and grow within the maintenance field.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and facility systems.
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and identifying needed repairs.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical components.
- Perform basic hydraulic-related tasks and inspections.
- Assist with minor electrical repairs under guidance.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Operate a forklift as needed (certification provided by the company).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Complete basic documentation using computer systems as required.
Education: No Requirements
Experience: 12 months
Hands-on experience taking equipment or machinery apart and reassembling it., Practical exposure to mechanical troubleshooting and repairs., Experience working with tools such as wrenches, sockets, drills, and measuring tools., Basic understanding of mechanical systems, with willingness to learn., Any shop, garage, manufacturing, or maintenance environment experience is beneficial.Physical:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of at least 12 hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hand and power tools repeatedly.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a maintenance/shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work in a non climate control environment.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic math skills (measurements, calculations, part counts).
- Basic computer skills (data entry, work orders, emails).
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn new systems and techniques.
Related Experience: Entry-level mechanical, maintenance, or technical experience, Exposure to automotive repair, mechanics, or similar hands-on mechanical work, Experience using common shop tools, Familiarity with hydraulics or electrical systems is a plus, Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required
