Job Description:

JPA Workforce - Arlington is working with a client in their search to fill a 1st Shift 8AM TO 5PM Monday-Friday, Woodcraft Artisan/ Assembly Specialist position in Grand Prairie, TX. The pay rate is $20.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Woodcraft Artisan to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will work hands-on with wood materials to assemble panels and craft wood boxes.
  • This role may also involve light sewing tasks, applying adhesives, and covering items with leather to create high-quality finished products.

Education: No Requirements

Experience: 24 months

Woodworking or Carpentry & Leather, Use of Hand Tools and Adhesives, Leatherwork or Light Sewing

Physical:

  • Manual Dexterity: Steady hands for sewing, gluing, and detail work
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise movements for assembly and finishing tasks
  • Standing for Long Periods: Much of the work is done at a workbench or standing station
  • Lifting and Moving Materials: Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs, including panels, boxes, and tools
  • Fine Motor Skills: Ability to handle small tools, needles, and detailed leather or sewing work
  • Repetitive Motion: Comfortable performing repetitive tasks like gluing, stitching, or cutting
  • Visual Acuity: Clear vision (with or without correction) for detailed inspection and alignment

Skills:

  • Woodworking: Ability to assemble wood panels and construct wood boxes with precision
  • Tool Use: Comfortable and safe use of hand tools (e.g., clamps, mallets, utility knives, glue applicators)
  • Adhesive Application: Skill in applying wood glue and other adhesives neatly and securely
  • Leatherwork: Ability to cover wood with leather or similar materials, ensuring smooth finishes
  • Basic Sewing: Competence in light sewing tasks for attaching or finishing materials
  • Blueprint Reading: Following instructions, blueprints, or templates accurately

Related Experience: Experience working with wood and leather materials, Basic sewing skills
